Come Hither

 Come Hither

Despite the fact that the temperature is barely above freezing here, you can always find some summer cornfields to skip through in Second Life. I love that the virtual weather completely validates my somewhat unseasonal choice of outfit.

These stunning eyelashes were purchased at Calla following a tip-offf from the lovely Beulah Mills. She said these were the best prim lashes she's ever worn - I'd hate to play favourites, but I will say I'm pretty taken with them myself. They were easy to fit (praise be!) and they beckon in silken tones that few red-blooded males could resist. An absolute must if you're getting dressed to impressed, Tigerlily Koi has several different styles available so you can pick a match depending on your mood.

Bathing in the Afterglow

Bathing in the AfterglowEveryone needs a good quality pair of sunglasses in their inventory: if you want an outstanding pair, I highly recommend shopping at GOS. Gospel Voom's range of fully-customisable shades are a necessary accessory for every fashionista, and since you can change every element from the frame shape, colour, tint and opacity, you can create a plethora of looks completely unique to you.

Razor is one of three options available (you can see another here). Tthe sleek styling on the frames is complimented by angled lenses, shown in one of the iridescent colours. You can style the lenses as much as the frames to compliment your outfit, setting a low opacity to see more of the eyes, or go opaque for a showy alternative. By touching your eyewear you'll bring up an options menu to make the neccessary changes quickly and easily, you can even pop these up on your head with a button press, which is so much easier than worrying about manual repositioning.

Never been to Tiny Bird? Autumn Hykova stocks some fabulous styles, everything from tidy up-dos and messy pony-tails to really unusual wigs with unique accessories. This style, Bea, is rather playful with hair divided into sections that sweep out to curled ends. Inward curves keep a solid base shape, and a spotted feather clip laid flat to the side gives a quirky finish. The accent lines hold attention to the face, which is exactly what you want when wearing a gorgeous skin like Belleza's Jesse.

It's rare for me to wear tanned skin, but I must admit that I'm rather taken with Jesse. The shade isn't too dark and is certainly radiant, with a sprinkling of freckles and well-defined body that even includes cleavage versions in each pack. While I'm not one to tout my wares about town, I still really appreciate this option - now you can wear those figure-hugging corset tops without that strange sensation of something being missing, and your push up bras will be seen to be doing their job. It makes all the difference when your skin compliments your clothing rather than working against it.

The weather's getting cooler and the days are getting shorter, so it seemed time to put together a outfit more suited to the increasingly wintery weather.

I really liked this camouflage jacket from SF Design. It's padded all over, with puffed body and arms, closing with fitted cuffs to the wrists. The rolled hood finishes the jacket and is detailed with loose draw strings. It's a great piece that I'm sure will be popular around the grid: there are a couple of different prim sizes available in the pack, and as a result I managed to get a custom fit by mixing and matching without needing to edit any of the prims. I didn't find a demo available in store, but you do have options regarding your prefered permissions, and if you have any problems fitting, Swaffette Firefly offers personalised help. There's a notecard at point of sale to answer any questions before you buy.

Turning Blue

Turning Blue

Tricky Boucher is my personal hero. I love Belleza skins whether they're male or female - although generally the latter suit me best. Belle has a gorgeous face and the selection of makeups is fabulous including everything from dramatic studio looks to gorgeous day and evening glam. The Mocha lip colour is the perfect balance between pink and brown and sits beautifully with the softly smoked eyes. Delicately arched brows balance the entire face, and paired with these seductive eyes from SLB, you're bound to cause a few heads to turn.

Going Out with a Bang

Going Out with a Bang

I came up with this style as I was searching for a look for a bonfire party. I know it's not November yet, but I like an excuse to start burning things early in the year.

O'Lantern is a recent Lookr release that's simply fun to wear. Whether it's in the run up to Halloween or long after, this oddly expressive character tshirt is a great addition to your wardrobe. It sits nicely beneath this open shirt from a Barerose set; the plaid texture makes this fairly traditional, easy wear and the wide roll-up cuffs add a little extra flare. The prims are a bit of an odd fit, but with some stretching, twisting and turning you can achieve a reasonable result.

Contemplating Autumn

Contemplating Autumn

Do you ever fall in love with pieces and cling on to their memory, desperate to find a means of justifying the purchase?

Happens to me all the time.

The first time I saw this hair, I took a demo and waited, hoping to find a look that would work with it. It's not that the hair's expensive, but there are only a few colour choices and it's not the kind of style that will go with everything. When I fashioned an outfit that suited both colour and style, I wasted no time in making my purchase and am extremely happy with the results.

The style focus today is on these shades from Gos. Available for men and women, the new Custom range provides sophistication and such diversity that you can literally match these to anything you wear with them. From the moment you rez these out you'll notice the quality. The case itself is a work of art: spare a few prims in your home and keep this on the counter, leaving it open to show off your new eyewear or closed for a more subtle cue for your friends to enquire about. Inside you'll find your shades and me-oh-my, these are fine! Gos sells shades in several styles but I'm modelling Compulsive here. The primwork is to a very high standard, with sleek textures that can be changed at the click of a button.

New Release: Noob on Fire

Noob on Fire

We got real creative this week and came up with this: Noob on Fire. It's as fun as it is fashionable, available for the ladies and the fellas. The design is on the front and the back of the shirt to ensure no one can miss you in a crowd.

Why, wouldn't you?

Why, wouldn't you?

This jacket from Grasp demanded blogging, and while it's available for both men and women, Adam beat me to it this time. I have to say that my personal preference for coats is that they use the jacket layer and then prims to detail: this one doesn't disappoint, offering some very well made sculpted parts. The prims fit neatly without the need for editing, and there are plenty of sculpted embellishments. "Nothing a texture wouldn't sort," Adam said when inspecting the many sculpties used to create a button, "but kudos for the effort". Close examination shows that even the zips on the arms have their own sculpties, and while it seems there is quite a lot of photosourcing, there are some nice details like the hand stitching on the neck. A lot of effort went into this one.
